New kitchen delights for customer

In a new series of blogs, we thought we’d take the time to talk to our customers about their new kitchens by Abbey Kitchens….and what they love best!

Emma began looking into kitchen designs not long after moving into her home in Bayston Hill – and was full of ideas about a new kitchen that would work for both her and her young family.

As with so many couples and families, she was overwhelmed by the choices of colours, styles, designs and options available to her so she came to Abbey Kitchens to help her decide what kitchen would meet her needs and would grow with the children over the coming years.

Emma met our designer Rebecca and they talked through what she was looking for.

She said: “I really wanted the kitchen to be a family friendly usable room, with space for a dining table and plenty of storage.

“As for the style, I knew I wanted a classic, cosy finish.”

Rebecca then took all of the information given to her and set about planning the design.

She said: “Emma knew exactly what she wanted. I planned it around her wish list.

“I suggested changing around the location of the fridge and oven as it made better sense for the ‘working triangle’ and allowed access to the fridge from the dining area without having to go into the main kitchen and disturbing the cook – essential for safety too as Emma has two young children.

“Then we made room for an integrated bin to save Emma going into the garage with any rubbish!  We love this design feature in our kitchens – it’s a real space and time saver.

“Last to be added was a free wine rack as we all enjoy a glass of wine at the end of a hard day!”

At Abbey Kitchens, we use CAD planning –  all designs can be adapted within the computer system, which allows customers to see how things would look in different places and really mould their kitchen into something they love.

Emma eventually chose the very popular Buckingham shaker in a soft grey and a complimentary wood effect worktop, which went beautifully with her chosen tiles.

Emma said: “Rebecca was great. She really showed me how to get the most out of the space with lots of storage solutions.

“Rebecca suggested the breakfast bar, which has been great for the kids to sit at while I’m cooking.

“As a family, we are so happy with the finished result and can’t wait to show it off to our friends and family.”

When COVID allows Rebecca is looking forward to paying a visit and seeing the kitchen in situ – and filled with happy smiling faces.

She said: “Choosing the right kitchen for your home and family is a big decision and one that needs careful consideration.

“Emma has truly made a wonderful choice in the heart of her home.”

The kitchen was fitted by the Franklin Renovations, a Shrewsbury-based company.

We kept in close contact with them during the fitting to answer any queries they had.

Thanks to them for the fabulous before and after photos and a great job!
