What better way to celebrate our 28th anniversary than by re-opening our showroom after lockdown?
We have thoroughly enjoyed this week, welcoming customers back and talking to them about their plans for a new kitchen.
And we get to celebrate our anniversary with cake – what could be better?
Our family-run business opened its doors in 1993 and is now one of the longest trading kitchen specialists in the county.
It all began when Roy Hayes opened a shop in Abbey Foregate called Abbey Trading and sold furniture and kitchens.
The kitchens were more successful so the shop became exclusively a kitchen showroom.
It moved to Whitchurch Road in 2012 to open a larger showroom with full kitchens and a range of doors, worktops, sinks, splashbacks and appliances.
Now run by Roy’s daughter Rebecca Hayes, she remembers walking home from school and staying in the office until her parents finished work.
She said: “I liked chatting to the staff. We’ve had some really nice people work for us.
“We are thrilled to have been in business for 28 years and we want to say a big thank you to all our wonderful customers for supporting us for so long and through the lockdown period.
“We are so happy to now have our studio open and we hope 2021 will be a much better year.
“We have some big plans for the summer, which we will let all our customers know about soon.”
In the meantime, pass the cake and let’s toast to another 28 years!
